I agree...did he say he didnt sand the peices before priming? and if I put a clear coat on when i do this will it take away that flat black look?

Im torn. On one hand, it looks very clean, but on the other it is a little monochromatic and slightly boring. I kind of like the offset color (oem). Maybe if I saw it in person.

I think I might start this project today. Only thing is i'm not sure where I can let all the paint and whatnot dry in the dorm room lol. Also did you paint the area around the shift boot at all so it would match the new black?

Yes the dash was red first, then a failed attempt at brushed aluminum, now black. The pics for the red are at 'painted red dash mod'. I didn't paint the console because I'm still not sure if I am keeping it this color. As for clear coat, it comes available in flat, semi flat and gloss finish, so you can get whatever sheen you want. I wanted it more flat though.
