I don't know how effective the OEM suby rear diffuser is but rear diffusers are more than bling. The concept is that by smoothing the air flow under the rear of the vehicle, the air travels quicker than the air above the vehicle and causes downforce. (less wind resistance as well)

I'm actually planning to go with the Varis Universal rear diffuser on my SC300. It's similar to the OEM Suby piece but much larger and more aggressive.
