is the EVO IX wing all carbon under the paint like the EVo 8?

 

i think the 9's have fiberglass wings. it sucks ***** and it feels real crappy when you tap it with your finger. find an 8 and compare, and you'll see

 

I'm currently searching for Evo8 owners that wanna go wingless.

my EVO's going into the bodyshop monday for some cf treatment and some paint to match...i was thinking that while it's in there they could unpaint and clear the wing if it's all carbon. would match great with the CF hood, trunk, and black roofline

 

The differeneces that I found on the wing of my Evo 8 and my Evo 9 is that the Evo 8 wing has the vertical inner supports of the wing made of carbon fiber while the Evo 9 inner vertical wing supports are plastic.

 

anyone notice the 9 wing has a extra extension on it for more downforce? where can I get one?

 

Derek, its a Gurney Flap (or wicker bill). i believe you can order them from Lancershop. RmR makes a CF peice thats pretty hot too.

I thought also make them because I have seen come brand new 9's come with it.

 

I just took the wing of my 03 Apex silver evo VIII if anyone is interested PM me, maybe we can work something out.

 

sides are ABS plastic. It weighs less than the 8 wing FYI. It looks similar but not as good imo. Feels cheap when tap on the sides compared to the 8's wing.

I'm looking for a white wing to match my future car. Then when i get time over the summer i plan to strip paint and clear it. @.@ two more weeks......gah! i can't wait!

i know one thing, i think it's freakin fugly!:

 

how can you think the EVO wing is ugly? it completes the car, and has a purpose. if it's functional, it's beautiful. without it the car looks like it's missing something...a damn wing
