You're kidding, right? "Unnecessary dirt" in the engine bay? What would happen if you got "unnecessary dirt" into your engine bay?

How would you propose the air would get through your filter? With the intake, as you know( ) it has suction. Free-flowing air coming through a duct does not. Most of it would be stopped by the filter, and thus outside of a cool looking duct, you'd have nothing.

Or do like most cars with this mod... have the induction box so that incoming air is centralized to the filter area

is that duct piece billet? or is it a piece of pipe, angle cut, with a flange welded on, then the weld smoothed out?

you know what, screw evodave. ive heard nothing but bullSh*t about him, he never gets back to people and as far as i can tell hes the only one that does stuff like this. i swear, when im done with my degree im going to make cool **** and actually get back to people about it.

nope old thread..i actually do still have this style of duct (i had laser cut out 50 rings to weld and port to make it) but i then later got into vacu forming which was easier and worked better and gave a larger area to seal against the lense. Additionally the duct was reinforced plastic and was way way lighter also. I am still doing these btw
