Did I get jipped? Perrin shorty antenna

Okay so I ordered a perrin shorty antenna and it arrived today. Damn this thing is small!! The oem antenna measures 15 1/2 inches and this thing only measures 4inches long. I have to admit it looks a lot better than the stock one, but damn this thing donesn't seem to be worth what I paid for it. I mean it's just some aluminum right? Also, I tighten it up all the way and still there was a gap. I mean how hard is it to make an antenna that sits flush? I don't really care because you can't really see it unless you up close looking.

P.S. Does anyone know the best way to take off the decal on the bottom of the antenna that says perrinperformance.com?

the reason why its expensive is becuase perrin is the only brand that makes am antennas for the lancers and EVOs. There are not that many people buying them so that is the reason why u probably ended up paying alot. You should have tried S2000 antennas from ebay....they fit our cars perfactly and not that expensive. I paid $10.00 w/ shipping for mine.....anyways, it you dont want the gap than modify your stock antenna...there is how-to thread somewhere in these forums. Good luck

Forge makes an antenna as well. Purchased mine for well below what the Perrin typically runs for.

I would be stunned if Perrin actually made that antenna. Tons and tons of perrin parts are just stamped with their name and maybe painted a little different but you can get the same exact thing for cheaper from another company that actually manufactures the piece.

I just order one as well, I was hoping for the Perrin antenna to be flush.

I just ghetto styled my antenna (Bolsen Style) LOL with a set of side cutters. Stick works like stock and didn't spend any money

Yea my reception is HORRIBLE. Like there are stations that I use to receive that arent even on the FM Band no more according to my radio. How are the S2K antennas? Are their reception better than this POS? How does it compare to stock?
