I've been looking into this unit as well. Does anyone know if the LCD can display double byte characters like Chinese or Japanese?

Currently, I am using a KENWOOD-KCA-IP500 to control my iPod from the Kenwood Deck. It won't display the song titles, album, artist names, etc., that are in Japanese or Chinese. English works fine but the song look up is kinda slow.

Tried to email H/K support but no response...

yeah i tried the ipod control cable for my HU and it totally sucked, it took forever to look up and particular artist or song....this thing is much better and the controls and displays are literally just like an ipod.

BTW: I'm actually selling this setup cause I'm upgrading to the pioneer avic z1....if anyone is interesting in buying this, or my Headunit, pm me!

quick question though, is the lcd always on, or does it stay on like the ipod for lets say 15 seconds after ur last use of the selector?
