Need JDM Evo IX Rear Bumper Pics!!!!

I got my Evo a few days ago and one of the first things I wanted to do to it was put a JDM rear bumper on it.I don't want to remove my crash bar or anything so this has left me, and many others it seems, in a sort of dilema.

My brother and I were working with RPDG and Cavlab to try to get our own bumpers on the market for the 2nd gen Galant when we figured we might as well try to get the JDM IX bumper rehashed.

With that said, I need to get pics from anyone with a JDM IX bumper that shows the front, back and both sides. I need it strictly for a total price quote because we will have to order one to be shipped out for reverse engineering scan. Along with e JDM one being sent out, we will be sending out a USDM one so the JDM one can be designed to fit exactly as the US one does. And the bumper will be made out of urethane, unless their is another material that is more desired. No fiberglass or carbon fiber for a little while though as the company we are working with does not offer those services.

Anyone with pics that would be greatly appreciated. And anyone interested in getting ahold of these after completion feel free to PM me at anytime. The price quoted so far is much higher than buying the bumper itself considering we make only one. But we're hoping to get enough people to want them so that putting these bumpers into production won't be a financial blunder.

lol dun bash his thread. I think its a good idea but its pretty much unneccesary now. If your willing to shell out 600 bucks for a jdm rear then you can go ahead and spend the extra 150 for a jdm crash beam. No need for reverse engineering man.

Wow, that was a super clever response. You sure your not tired from spending many hours thinking of such a witty comment?? You probably should lay down for a little bit and try to recuperate after a retort such as that.

I can't believe you'd put a CF trunk on a new 9 that fits so horribly, I swear I can see into your trunk from the gap on the left side

Mine:

I had the bodyshop cut down the stock crash beam so it would fit, it he said it was very easy. I should get more info from them to see if the average guy at home could do it, if you get rear ended with no crash beam your trunk pan will get crunched pretty good.

Yeah, I've seen that and the price isn't too bad at all. The only reason I've posted this is because we're already going to be working with getting our own bumper made.

I know that it won't fit over the USDM crash bar, and some people are hesitant about removing their's. My main question is if you were to remove/replace your crash bar and were to get rear ended would you be held accountable insurance wise?? That's the main thing that worries me is what kind of reprecussions would happen if I were to change the crash bar out. Also, if anyone knows does the crash bar make that much of a difference??

I figured it was something worth looking into as an alternative.
