full evo front end on lancer?
don't really know where to post this so thought i'd throw it in here since it is nearest to show 'n shine.
i was looking at the new seibon full cf fenders and front/rear doors. as far as i can see, the evo fenders should bolt right up to the lancer fender mounts, the only thing i can see is the headlight being slightly different. therefore, i got to thinking that if i got the evo headlights and the evo cf fenders, then they would be a matchup. so now the question is if the evo headlights will fit the lancer mounts (which are very similar, only the headlight shape at the end is different).
then of course the thought occured that maybe the inner tips of the headlights are slightly different too, such that even my evo VII hood doesn't match up right. therefore if i got an evo cf hood, then it should match.
i already know the front doors are the same, but other than the wide body section, is there any reason why the rears wouldn't also work?
you can see where i'm going with all this... so i was looking for input from all you evom ppl to see what u think about this and if u think it will indeed work as i have described above.
and yes i know some of you are thinking "why not just buy an evo?" well easier said than done since i'm in Canada.
anyway, throw your opinionns out here good or bad, but please no flaming. it's just not needed!

I don't think it would work. For one the evo has a wider wheel stance than the lancer so you could very well end up with some serious rubbing. The rears won't work without also replacing the rear doors, the taillights, and the rear bumper. I just don't think it'd be worth it, it would look very odd. You're better off just sticking with the evo 7 bodykit or something actually made for the car.
There is a car somewhere that has done this on this board. If you search diligently enough you can find it. It looks gross. The proportions are all wrong because it is wide up front, but not in the back, the wheels look lost in the fender wheels. The Lancer looks better as it is with its own stock (or stock replacement) panels.

i do realize, the evo has a wider stance, but having rims with a different offset to push them out further would solve that pretty easily i think. i rub as it is anyway, with the evo VII kit cutting down so sharply in front of the wheels.
if i made my own wide body fenders for the rear then the front wouldn't look out of proportion at all.
oh, and if there is anyone in NY that has bought bodykits for their evos and have some of these parts laying around and perhaps wouldn't mind trying this to see how it works/fits then give me a holla!

So are you going to put wider wheels up front, what about the back? You'll have to have wide body rear fenders or it will still look very odd. The Evo has wider wheels and a wider track.

perhaps not wider wheels (though my 18x8 are pretty wide), just having a different offset, to make it sit where it should in the fender well. and for the rears, do the same thing

But a high offset would probably cause rubbing in the rear if the car is lowered and if you haven't done any body modification in the rear. An extreme offset may or may not put stress on your hubs.

thanks for all the responses people!!
please do not try to copy the look of Evo's. Not trying to be a jerk here, but they are completely different machines and trying to impersonate them in ANY way (even just an Evo wing) is really, really pathetic.
