I know this subject has been brought up before, but when I browsed through some of the threads on it, I couldn't really find a definite yes or no to the question I have in mind. I have a Tarmac Black 06 GSR, and one of very very few in my area. The carbon fiber spoiler draws WAY more attention than I care to have from the local cops and other annoying ricers. My question is, will the wingless trunk from an 06 Lancer ES make a direct swap for mine without any modifications needed? Secondly, if the answer is yes, does anyone know somebody with a black wingless Lancer that might be interested? BTW, I am in Albuquerque, NM.

Damn.. I didn't even think about that.. I just assumed they were the same.. So I guess color doesn't matter much if I gotta get it painted anyway.. Thanks for the input. I guess I better check on the color matching.

I don't think the 06 Lancer ES will swap with the Evolution, regardless of color. I have an 04 OZ Rally, and that was the year they implemented the rounded out edges on the trunk lids, with the license plate holder directly on the trunk, versus on the bumper like the pre-04 models. It think you might have to look at an 02-03 Lancer.

 

the only trunks that will swap is the 02-03 Lancer....
i have a yellow one with the low pro spolier if anyone wants to swap....

 

Does anybody know what *specific* colors the 02-03 Lancers were available in? I've been curious about buying a wingless trunk too.

 

just take off the wing and cover the 3 holes w/ electrical tape. It is a $.05 solution.

 

We drive $30k + cars. Seems a bit CHEAP...dont'cha think? BUY some black plugs when you remove your spoiler, and wait for a CF trunk or trade across a similar model with the same color. Do it right or just be patient. No worries, man.

 

the 02 03 lancer trunk is a direct fit for the evo, also i think that the lancer and evo black are the same. another option is the 02 03 oz rally spoiler, road race motorsports offers this all carbon fiber one that is a direct bolt on and looks sweet in my oponion. also i have a winglet on my car, the yellow oz and it has kinda a cool look.

 

the black should be the same.

in 02-03 the colors that would match are yellow,black,i think red,silver,white.....i think thats it.

I guess I should post a query in the Lancer section for an 02-03. I saw 3 or 4 black ones driving around town today wingless just to taunt me or something. Thanks again for the info everyone.
