Question For those with the jdm ix rear bumper

Hey guys, today im picking up a jdm ix rear w/ tow hook cover, but it doesn't come with the rivets. my question to you guys is what size are the rivets, and can i buy them from a place such as home depot? im assuming all i need is the rivet gun to install the new ones, so im planning on picking up that too.

thanks in advance for your help.

im not picking it up from a vendor, buying it from someone on my local forums. i didnt think it would be too much of a hassle to allocate new rivets or something.

Yea you can buy them from a hardware store. Rivet gun cost me like $9.99 from Sears Hardware.

You don't need an exact size in my opinion, as long as you get something close enough.

I duno how much help it is, but the thickness of the rivet is as thick as a quarter.

I duno about yours, but a guy around here has the evo 9 rear bumper on without the rivets, and when u push down on the bumper, it moves a lot.

Technically you don't NEED the rivets, but you'll only be paying like $12-$15 additional (rivet gun and rivets).

i decided not to use rivets til i ordered the jdm retainer for the bumper. boy was that a pain, took a total of 7 hours, and fitment is still off by a little on the right side. the portion right under the tailight towards a corner is in too much. it looks like the rivets on the retainer that i couldnt remove are forcing the bumper to be pushed down just a little. the new retainer should fix this, ill take some pics tomorrow, way too tired after that whole process. thanks for your help guys
