rnr exhaust install

spent yesterday putting my exhaust on my car. few minor issues with the bolts going to the o2 housing, nothing major. when it gets warm sometimes it rattles/bangs so i'll probably get some better hangers for it but for the most part it's good. fitment was great and from behind it looks almost stock. little louder than i had hoped but it's not bad at all. it's an RNR TBE with high flow cat and magnflow muffler. on with the pics

exhaust all nice and pretty

old exhaust, pretty rusty for only being 7 months old

towards the end, my gf decided to take a picture of me, i don't know why

almost done

magnaflow

and what happens when you have slide around on your back for a while on a dirty garage floor

and a little video of it, the mic sucks and it sounds different in person but this gives an idea

how much

How much did the complete exhaust cost you? Why did you get this over some of the others (e.g. BR Bullet) ??

i think it ended up being $740 shipped or something like that, PM ryan from RNR for pricing cause they have different options. i went with it because i had heard good things about fitment and overall quality, plus people had said it wasn't super loud. i also saw some pictures and liked that the mufler didn't stick down low like a lot of them and looked basically stock. for me it was between this and the buschur w/ magnaflow and HFC, this one was a little cheaper though and i like the idea of having a flex pipe so i went with the RNR

May I ask how long it took you to get it? I like the RNR exhaust and have had it on 2 previous DSM's but both times it took 2-3 months to get. It looks good on the car man good luck and you might want to invest in a creeper lol..

it took me 1 month and 1 week, a while but not unbearable. i was at the store picking up jack stands and looked at the creeper but thought "eh, it's just an exhaust, i won't be under there for that long." obviously that was a bad decision, but of course i won't get one now and will wish next time i install something that i had one. such is life

i just ordered my kartboy hangers to hopefully end any chance of rattling ever. it only rattling when warm and under certain conditions makes me think it's the hangers getting soft when they're warm but we'll see when the kartboy ones go on

jred321, can you comment realistically about the sound level increase from stock? Any drone at freeway speeds?

i would say at highway speeds it is actually closer to stock than it is around town. around town it's pretty loud i realize the more i drive it, or at least compared to stock it's pretty loud. my car was never really quiet at freeway speeds though and this is a little louder but since it's such a light load it's pretty similar to stock, a bit louder but not too bad. i wouldn't call it drone though
