Trust me, do NOT go through the trouble. That was what I used for my first prototype kit and it simply didn't work as effectively as the stock unit. Also, the re-wiring is a complete nightmare (expect >$500 in install cost on wiring alone) and you lose the max a/c function.
If you really want to upgrade to 2-DIN's, see the link in my sig. It's a comprehensive 2-DIN conversion kit that utlizes your OEM HVAC controls by means of our prorietary lower & upper bezels. Our GB for the first production run still has spaces and we're expecting to finish production by the end of May.
