Question - Blitz Mirror Drive, black or regular?

hey, ive emailed Blitz about this, but they have not replied so i hope you guys know.

this is the gauge im talking about
http://www.blitzshop.co.uk/product_i...cts_id=1621027

as seen on their site, when the ignition is off, the meter is blank, blacktoned.

but a vendor here in sweden says that in reality it looks just like a mirror. here is their pics

are these two diffrent products? or is the pic at blitz site wrong?

i really want those black-toned ones, but the silver-mirror thing looks ghey.

please help me, they arent cheap so i cant just order 3 and hope for the best.
as stated above, i havent gotten a reply from blitz regarding this.

also, if you could recommend me someone (except lancershop/mastaminds) who sells a-pillar gauge pods 3 x 60mm. thanks in advance!

black would look hot, but im afraid that by the vendor's pic and the fact they are called "mirror drive" that they do look like mirrors when off... and that is pretty damn ghey.

get defi BF's... i have them and couldnt be happier

I have had previous experience with BLM's and although they are a VERY nice and accurate gauge, the black lighting, hence Black Light Meter (BLM) name, is not very evenly distributed. It kind of gets annoying, but other than that I have no complaints at all. It's a very class looking gauge, old school JDM-ish. I wouldn't hesitate to get Blitz gauges again, not too many people run them... it's original if you ask me.

Could be just the background. I don't know for sure. This is really random, but I have a Greddy shift knob that is polished to a mirror finish and it looks black inside the car because of the dark interior. Could be something like that.

thanks for your replies, maybe your right about the background. i have to really think about this one, but ill probably go for another set =)

still no one who know where i can order a a-pillar gauge-pod with place for 3x60mm meters?

ive only seen them on lancershop, but we have had problems with delivery from them before, so if someone knows another vendor who sells them i would be very very grateful =)

I had the same problem as you did mounting gauges... And after doing some research on this site, it seems like no one's really 100% satisfied with the triple pod A pillars. If your a do it yourself guy, you could prolly make it fit perfectly along with a tweeter cutout. But if your like me and cant tell one wrench from another i'd just mount the gauges on the dash in a neat line or get the craig hardy panel. Just my 2 cents.

i actually have these gauges, just not installed yet. I ordered the black carbon faced, mainly because I have a cf panel. And yes, when it is off, it's just a mirror. If you want black-faced, get a defi bf or different gauges. If you are worried about the "silver" part, it's not really silver, it'll just reflect anything that is reflected. So at night, it's black. lol
