im still confused... I just recently bought a yellow evo IX front from gruppe-s for $799 and I need to know what additional things i need to buy and the exact part number. I see the list up there with a crap load of nets and all but I heard all i needed to buy was a grill set and an emblem. Also, does the 8 and 9 bumper bolt down to the fender and plastic undertray the same way? Please help chime in on what i need to do to convert my VIII to a IX.

+1 For the plastic under panelling of the VIII fitting the IX bumper.

Anyone have any DIY pointers for those of us doing this at home?

Another alternative is to buy a used iX bump minus the 9 crash beam.

I bought mine for $700 used. What I had to do is use the EVO 8 mounting bracket to mount the 9 bump. There is even a slot for the IC spray but instead of two there is now one. Any good body shop can make 9 bump fit. Just leting people know you can improvise and make it fit without all the parts.

The 8 underpanel DOES indeed fit the 9 front bumper. The holes might be off by a couple mm in any given direction, but it will bolt on just fine!

Hey guys I am doing my VIII > IX conversion on Monday. Any pointers/tips to ease the installation?

I am getting all my parts from the local dealership as well. If you have any parts that you want to plug/get rid off please PM me.

Thanks guys.
