i just noticed recently that on my hood right above the screen(opening), there is a film developing, im assuming from excessive heat. i clean my car usually at least once a week. ive tried to get it off but its still there. any suggestions? any could cleaning solution anyone could recommend? thanks.

dude a buddy of mine put a cbf hood on his Integra a year ago and the same thing happened, not sure what brand the hood was, but he wasn't able to get it off. He had the clear coat stripped and re applied, looked fine after that. But I doubt your looking to do that after just getting it... Hope all works out for ya...

 

it's your clear peeling, or fading. try polish, and don't forget to wax the hood.

 

CF hoods fade after lots of contact from UV rays and engine heat. It's just one of the consequences of buying one. The look beautiful, but you really have to take care of em. The one I had on my eclipse started to look bad after a couple of years.

 

anyone know how much to have clear coat stripped and reapplied, or would it be cheaper just to get the hood painted??

sanding off the clear coat and reapplying can be done yourself. there are actually threads that guys made in how to do this job. they are quite useful but i suggest you find that thread and PM one of those guys who made the "how to" thread... im sure theyll be glad to help you out.
