headlights available in other countries? attempt 2

here in north america (LHD), the EVOVIII RS and non SSL (GSR) evo's got chrome background headlights and taillights with halogens headlamps (DOT Approved). no foglights

the MR and SSL Evo got the same chrome backed headlights and tailights but with HID headlamps and halogen foglights. (DOT)

(I think HID's might have been options in 2003 and 2004 though, not sure if they had foglights or not...anyone that knows, post it up!)

in the IX, the trend is the same except that all versions have a black chrome background headlight and taillight.

in all models and all years, the headlight and taillight have white/clear signal on the bottom and amber on the top (headlight only).

if you want a custom look, here are the options:
1) some people paint their USDM flat black..evo dave seems to be able to do anything. disadvantage is that he has to pull them apart and glue them back together. sure this is a good/cheap option, but that isn't what this thread is about so please don't post about it or suggest it.

2) others buy the JDM MR versions that have flat black background and amber signals on the bottom (headlight and taillight).
the problem with these lamps are that they are made for RHD cars and therefore blind oncoming traffic in north america. I'm not sure what standard they are made for? (DOT is the american one I believe) anyone that has these, can you take a look and see if they have a standard stamped on them?

I'm not sure what the regular EVO's (non-MR) got in the JDM market? I guess they probably got the chromed versions until the IX when they got the black chrome?

3) evo IX headlamps on older evos. you maintain the LHD beam pattern and they are "black chrome" rather than chrome.

4)???? european evo lamps?

what I am trying to determine is what headlamp options were available in europe. specifically for the LHD countries but it would be cool to know what the RHD countries got as well. (did they get the JDM versions or are there different standards that the european countries have to follow)
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im just about positive other than the JDM MR's (VII & IX) and the Euro lights which are above that there are no other headlights than whats available on the USDM EVO's

even though I don't speak many of the languages of the sites I've been looking at, it looks like only UK, NA and Japan got more than 1 model of EVO.

it even looks like the "mr" is gone from japan: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/e...eup/index.html unless i'm not looking in the right place. it looks like the GSR is their top model

actually all these models seem to be their version of an "mr" with a 6 spd, and HIDs.

it looks like most had the NA style headlights (chrome for VIII and black chrome for IX)

03s pretty much came with all the bells and whistles as noted above the spoiler, SSL or sunroof alone were the only options. Or at Least mine did
