well...if your into track days...take it out...but on a long road trip, its always good to keep a spare, just in case.

i have 2 12s in the trunk, along with a false wall for the amps. the whole thing is probably about 100lb and i still have my spare tire.
i dont track or race my car in anyway so i dont really care about weight reduction.

If it's a daily driver keep the spare.

man the spare saved my life the other day...even although we have the roadside dealy, sometime they take forever to get there. I agree with the above posts, ifs its a daily driver keep the spare.

I ditched the spare - knocking on wood right now. But look at it this way. Its only good for 50 miles and @ 80 kph. When you drive over 50 miles to work/play, does it matter? I have AAA, Id rather not bother and just get a flat bed. Esp now with my suspension.

get one of those tire sealant kits if you're worried about getting a flat, they weigh less and take up less space than a spare

I took my spare out, but then my girlfriend talked me into putting it back in. Thank God she did, because yesterday I blew out a tire 20 miles from home, and the spare came in handy.

So you're worried about weight savings, but you're going to add 20 unnecessary lbs, then you're going to pull out your spare tire to compensate for the weight the speaker?? Doesn't that sound just the least bit odd?

The weight savings would only really matter if you're running at a track for time, and you wanna knock off 100ths of a second. Waiting for a tow truck is a major pain in the ***. I've had to wait up to 3 hours before because of a untimely major accident that required all of the flatbeds in the area And if you're going to the track, you should take out the sub also

No it doesn't because I did the samething. Roadside will take care of my flats and changing it on the freeway sux. FOr long trips ofcourse I'd use the spare...
