Orbital 2 din installed, but no navi...
well, i didn't want to wait til i save up for the navi unit. Today i installed the 2din conversion I got from Rich of Orbital Prestige. Thanks.
These fotos are of the install.
The install was pretty simple thanks to the nice instructions. Install took 3 1/2 hrs. If i was doing it again I can probably cut the time in half. The hardest thing about it was bending the bracket to free room for the HVAC.
The interior now looks awesome. The black finish on the kit looks so much nicer than that plastic stock gray din panel. All the rotating controls on the hvac work flawlessly.
Theres only 2 problems on my kit the a/c and recirculating buttons get stuck and the stickers don't stick the lower bezel. Hopefully i can solve those two minor issues. I still have to get that navi.

oh btw...the reason you thought the bending of the metal to make room for the hvac was the hardest part is because you bent it the wrong way...lol but either way works...but there was an easier way

I just installed my orbital kit this week. Super straight forward, farctory finish I love it. Only gripes are with my eclipse avn I had to drill out the holes in the L brackets that are used to mount the head unit to the car as the new holes I drilled for with the template ended up being a little low and I had 1/4" gap at the top. It was a easy fix thou.

i have no clue on which navi to get. Still researching.
I really want to get the mini computer with a touch screen lcd. I think i can find that cheaper than buying a navi system. The kenwood looks nice though
What is the difference between the D1 and the Z1?
Which unit are you getting Naj?

Z1 has an internal 30gb hdd built in...and is bluetooth ready (you still need the adapter for bluetooth though) it also has a 7" screen (screen from side to side no buttons on the sides) with a small row of buttons on the bottom. All maps are on the hdd so you don't have to swap out DVD's and you don't have 'choppyness' when you scroll around the map. Also the interface is 'spiced up' and so is the gps map views.
