New JDM bumper/20% tint on EB installed...

I finally got around to installing the new bumper and got the windows tinted the other day so after I got done cleaning out the garage to getting ready for the mod party to begin with all the new parts that have arrived over the last week or so I thought I would take some pics of the new bumper and 20% tint. I also have the Ralliart CF lip spoiler thats going on this week when I put on the new FMIC and all the other goodies So when I finish hopefully by the weekend I'll have new and better pics with the lip, suspension, and FMIC ect.... on and clean her up nice!

Thanks,

Joe

Nice FD, you don't see too many of those anymore. One of my favorite cars! Have you had many problems with it?

Thanks, the exhaust I have on the car is the Greddy Titanium, when I first installed it with the regular stock bumper it fit fine after some positioning but it had a sunken in look since the exhaust was designed on the JDM bumper. Some people said that it was going to melt the stock bumper because it was so close but I drove like that for a month before putting on the JDM bumper and I had no problems other then making the bumper black as hell. After I installed the JDM bumper I had to reposition it some to fit centered but after a few minutes she was perfectly centered and doesn't rub. I'll be honest though I like the way it looked better with the stock bumper, it sticks out way to far with the JDM bumper, I hate it. I wish I could get it so that it was a little more out then the stock bumper but a little less then the JDM bumper, if I could get it modified to were it was in the middle of the two then it would look perfect! I've gotten used to it now but still don't like the way it sticks out it almost doesn't look right, the other way it was almost hidden but not to the point you couldn't see it but enough to see it was there and maybe not so noticeable to the cops. If I can find a Fab shop locally who can weld Titanium I'm going to get them to modify it some to sit in some more so it is closer to the position it was in with the stock bumper.

Thanks, your right you don't see to many of these around anymore. Mine is pretty mint... 1 owner car w/ 19k original miles on it and absolutely perfect. I've had a few RX7's and never had any problems with them. I hate that these cars have such a bad rep. for no reason really. Its like anything else you put these cars into the hands of kids who have no concept of modifying cars and they blow them up and blame the car. I've have helped and built some 7's with stock motors that make 5 to 6 hundred HP just with some port work but other then that stock seals and everything else and they work just fine. The problem with the 7 is that they are very non forgiving to detenation. So your tune needs to be spot on. They need to modified in a certain way meaning you can't just throw a bunch of parts on and drive around with out a tune with out something going horribly wrong. They run a map not a MAF so the second you through on a TBE, intake the car automatically runs a few more lbs of boost with no cats and can very possibly blow the motor. You need to throw on a Power FC almost immediately to be able to handle the addition to any mods to keep it reliable. But they can be very reliable and very fast. I love them they are one of my fav. of all time

Thanks, but I'll be honest I wish I went a little lighter, at night time you can't see out of the car to well and it makes for looking before changing lanes a PITA, your always second guessing yourself and looking ten times to be sure. During the day its not bad and hopefully I don't get hassled by the cops because here in MD 35% is the darkest you can go without getting a fix-a-ticket.
