Gave My Evo Fangs: Splitter Support Rod Overkill!
I'm sure I'm not the first to punch the turnbuckle support rods of their APR splitter through the front bumper after misjudging a driveway transition. I finally did it after years of pussyfooting around curbs and speed bumps.
So, I decided it was time for a serious support upgrade. I purchased some stainless sailing turnbuckles and 5/16th's Heim joints. This time I attached the turnbuckles to the bumper support beam by simply retapping the existing bolt holes.
I'm pleased with the results. A simple twist of the turnbuckles actually makes a difference in the splitter's angle. To remove the supports, just take off the clips and pop the pins out.
I've placed the APR support rods in a few of the photos to illustrate the difference in size. They're definitely overkill. Flame away.
