would a 245/45-18 pirelli slick on a 18x10 work, or is the sidewall too tall and will cause lots of problems?

Tires will be stretched slightly on that wide of a wheel and 245/45/18 is going to be about 1.6-2" taller than the stock size so that is a pretty tall tire to go with. A more ideal tire size for an Evo 8 or 9 and a 18x10 wheel for race slicks would be a 265/35/18. This is about the same height as stock and is recommended for a 9.5-10" wide wheel.

Understandable when you find a good deal. You just want to jump on it Ya I have collected over the years and have quite a few tires. I get mine for pretty good prices since I jump on the deals when I hear or see them locally. Helps that there is a race track not far away from where I live and work

I have the 245's for my 9" wide wheels and then some 285's will be for my 10.5" wheels later down the road after some body modification

i have a set of nt03s that are 9.5" wide that i could put them on but i'd still wouldn't be able to clear them seeing how tall they would end up being

what rims you going with to fit the 285s? i have my 285 R6s on my 18x10 +38 RPF1s. i would like to put a bigger rim under there if i could, but without modifying the body or getting CCWs and aftermarket trailing arms i don't think its possible

I had a set of 18x10.5 +15 RPF1's on my last Evo so I was going to go with that again for cheap light weight race wheels. I want to go wider, but that will more than likely require 3 piece wheels like CCW's.

If I can work a deal out with a friend I would love to pick up one of his 18x11 TE37 sets

I am actually going to be running 245 and 255 wide tires on some 18x9.5 I have now
