Carbon fiber hood and trunk

I'm seriously considering putting a carbon fiber hood and trunk on my black evo. My question is has any one of you guys ever done this -- would it look good? I can visualize it looking good on black but I see too many of them on white evos so maybe there's a reason why I never see them on black (maybe they don't look right?). Also where is the best place to buy them?

Make sure that the hood is actually lighter than stock.

Ok i would recommend going wingless and buying an Evodave CF Trunk. That is of course if you want the best fitment and qaulity, and its actually lighter than the stock trunk.

I dont really recommend going with a CF hood only because it is not lighter than the stock evo hood. But Seibon makes good qaulity CF parts so if you must have a cf hood id get a seibon one...

hope this helps

Yes it does. THANKS! Sorry I'm being such a "newbie" but your reply was much more mature than some folks here. It was good to learn that CF hoods/trunks usually weigh more, which is surprising to me and not something I want now that I know.

Curious since I have never seen CF on a black car before. Does anyone here have pics?

I agree with you on the Evodave trunk but Id be a little weary on Seibon products...Ive seen great products and crappy products come from Seibon. Its pretty much hit or miss with them IMHO

most aftermarket CF trunks will be lighter then stock but the hoods are a different story cuz the hood is aluminum and very light straight from the factory

Some people take their posting very seriously as you see.... I like to call them "master-posters"... opposed to what other people call them... that starts with "master"....
