I know that But dsmbruno said he got his Evo VIII ducts in for his car, he didn't say he got Evo IX ducts... There seems to have been a little misunderstanding here

That's where the "misunderstanding is." No one is talking about Evo VIII ducts and yet dsmbruno makes a post about them(). It's not that hard to figure out. If you two want to talk about Evo VIII ducts start a new thread, stop taking this one off topic. Thanks.

How is this functional?
Don't those openings in the bumper already direct air to the oil cooler?

And the fenderwell doesn't have a frontal opening for the brakes. It's a side opening and you need ductwork in order to get air to them.

So basically my question is: Are these functional? (more than stock holes)

If you read the whole thread you will know that rexpeed mentions that they are making evo 8 ducts as well as evo 9. A few people got interested in them including me. I was just letting other people know that i got my evo 8 ducts in, and to let the people waiting for the evo 9 ducts that the quality and fitment is amazing. GO REXPEED
