Hey i have a graphite grey 2005 MR and im going to put a CF hood and trunk and i was gonna put on a full carbon fiber wing to go with it....iv searched for places to purchase these wings and i cant find any,...does any1 have any websites to find this? thanx

 

all VIII wings are full CF...all you need to do is sand it down...it's just painted over the CF.

Sand it down and re-clear it...all CF wing. yay!

 

are the IX wings carbon fiber fully too? so for off topic, ive been wondering this though

 

no, IX wings are plastic

 

theres quite a few threads like this in here which ive actually responded to. I have that same set-up on my lancer. Seibon CF evo VIII trunk. Ceriousperformance full CF evo VIII wing. The wing fit great and weave is good. clear could be better.

I've been considering the Cerious wing, but I've heard the middle sections if much fatter than stock. Is that the case? It looks good in the pics.

 

yeah. it is probably twice as thick. I never see evos up here in maine so I got up close to one once and I was surprised how much thinner it actually is. It doesnt bother me really and Noone has ever mentioned it.

what ever you do, dont sand down the 2005 GG MR wing. Its a special limited color. only on the 2005 GG MR. very rare.

 

The IX ones are just plastic, but the VIII ones are full CF, and the weave is pretty good actually. just go wingless for a few days and sand that sucker down and put a few layers of clear on it, you'll be ballin'

 

i love how people talk out there ***... 03-04 are full carbon fiber, 05's and up are plastic sides... 03-04 have peeling issues... i owned an 03 and i have an 05 now....

 

we have done a couple at the shop, it takes a long time to do but looks great when its done...

Yeah. I figured after buying a oem wing off a member, then paying to have it completely sanded down and cleared... I might as well buy the cerious wing and not have to deal with a body shop... $400 isnt to bad for a full CF wing... mabey. lol
