Evo RS owners, check these pics
stay wingless!!!!
Everyone thought I was crazy when I went from my VIII which had power everything, stereo, hid's, sunroof, abs, etc... to my IX RS. But I honestly couldnt be happier w/ the car
Its the raw nature that I think I love so much

mitsubishi didnt exactly delete the wing from the rs to 'reduce' weight. it was to give the buyer an option of what he/she wants to add later depending on the purpose of the car. you have to remember the rs is intended for those looking for a raw purpose built track car.
to wing or not is purely the owners preference, i own an rs myself and for the streets i rock the wingless however when im on the track i have my spare wing+trunk ready to go battle

.The philosophy is they expect the buyer to put on their own racing parts, so they dont' charge you for stuff that's going to get swapped out anyways like:
1. wheels
2. Recaro sport seats
3. Radio
4. A/C
5. Electric windows
6. lining/sound deadening/carpets
looks nice! love your Impreza RS as well.. do you have a swap in there? I had mine w/ an usdm EJ20 swap back in 2002.
the very first few did the swap back then. Are you on nasioc?
