LY paint/detailing/touch up issues

I need help with my car. Obviously we all know our paint sucks and all and I wanna ask about detailing, and touching up the scratches on my car.

Firsty I bought a bottle of touch up paint, and also bought a touch up paint pen.
I can patch up a scratch or a nick, but then a few weeks or months later the touched up paint discolors and turns dark...which makes my car look like it has dirt or oil marks on it.

What do you guys recommend that I do to get it looking better from up close?

repaint the area...but if you are going to touch it up its never going to be perfect, and will likely have to do it again down the road...

Yeah, I know thats the best way to do it.... if I were to repaint a section I would then consider doing 3M this time.

For now I'm gonna try to remove the touch up paint section with nail polish remover or something and re-touch up the nicks I have.

The worse scratches on my car were self inflicted by me getting in or out of the car and hitting the side skirt with the bottom of my shoe..... Those areas have been touched up, but now are discoloring a bit now...

You can also buy a clear coat pen. That will prevent the touched up area from turning black.
