Hope my Evo would be out by then, but it seems unlikely. We are checking on how we can fit an AEM EMS on an Evo 5. It is unlikely that it shares the same qiring harness as the Evo 7/8/9. So we might have to do some rewirings.

Drop by Orange or Autoplus. Its heaven in those places. Evos and many exotics.

Someone PMed me asking me a few questions, and someone PMed me also before asking me a few other questions. They were both similar. For the sake of everyone's info also, I will just be posting the answers here.

1. You seem not to care about comfort. Why don't you spend on comfort too?
My answer: Ever since the Evo RS models first came out in the early nineties, they had been less comfortable high performance ready to race cars. From my comfortable Evo 7 moving to a less comfortable old generation Evo 5 may quite be a funny impression I am making on most, but to me, it was the best decision for the following reasons:
  • To me, the Evo V is the most beautiful beastly looking Evo ever built.
  • I already have a comfortable daily driver. The uncomfortable Evo V is made to perform, and not to relax me up. So no need for another comfortable car. What I want in the Evo 5 is its raw and bruteness.
  • The Evo 5 RS is the most limted Evo with only 5,000 models built worldwide. It was even built in a separate factory away from the main production line. Hence, having one is definitely a gem.
  • Sound system, why the need? I am fine with my Pioneer head unit and 2 lousy sounding speakers. Besides, my music is always off. Just hearing the turbo whine, fuel pumps, exhaust system etc are music to my ears, therefore, no need to drive like the Stig.

2. You are not getting the power you need for the amount you had spent on the car. With a less amount, you can get 9secs time slips!
My answer: Enjoying also my power for only 9secs is such a waste of time and money. An Evo was built to take tight turns, chicanes, corners, etc., and at the same time, move down the circuit at the quickest time combined with high speeds. In other words, total performance. I had been beating Porsches at circuits and winding roads, going head to head with Ferraris at our notorious Skyway, and at the same time, drive like any garden fresh car in heavy traffic. Thats why I spent so much on the parts, it is because I want more than just pure power. I want to enjoy my power for minutes, and not just seconds. Secondly, my ongiong set-up of a GT35R will just be for a race against a Skyline. My goal is not to make 10secs or 9secs, but to basically just beat that Skyline! Then it will be tested on the circuit. Now, if the car will perform better, then I will be keeping the present set-up. But if not, then its back to the HKS GT3037 kit. Again, it is not only about POWER, but its TOTAL PERFORMANCE. These are just my preferences, for others, it may be different.

Just a note. When we say daily driver, that means also using regular 96 octane pump gas. Never even have I tried using C16 on our regular streets. Not only that, but it should drive like a garden fresh lancer on heavy traffic.
