I took my front badge off my IX a while back and had some paint lying around. I tried the whole red badge look but it seemed to common for me. So I did this instead (badge is a bit wet after wash)


Flat black with red surround

I don't know, I'm not sure if I like it or not. Going all black may have not been bad. You know, instead of taking it completely out.

 

I like it just the way it is, I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine, just wondering how you did it, did you take the emblem apart and paint the pieces separately or just mask off the different sections?

I took the badge apart. Double sided tape holds the silver part of the badge onto the black backing. I sanded a bit and primed, and a few coats of paint later...

I'm on the fence. It looks good, but kinda cheesy. It looks as if it was glowing. Just remove maybe..

 

I'm doing the same thing except black chrome and red...I think it looks sharp .
