Urethane v. Fiberglass

I know this topic might have been discussed in the past, but I cannot bother with doing a search as I have to make this decision real quickly and need a kit ASAP. Now I want if, other than Kaminari, there are other manufacturers that make body kits in urethane? I've read a little blurb on Gruppe-S' site and they state that many of the name brand manufacturers use fiberglass. My body shop tech is definitely anti-fiberglass and I've just purchased a Chargespeed kit, which is fiberglass. I've haven't taken ownership of it yet so I can still change my order or cancel. What are your guys' feeling on this?

Get a different body shop guy. I'm surprised that there are shops that don't handle with fiberglass.

fiberglass - lightweight, cheaper, breaks easier...if you as so much drag a fiberglass bodykit or bump it against the gutter...it goes bye bye.

urethane
- heavier compared to fiberglass, more expensive, but also more durable...you can keep scratching a urethane body kit if your car's too low and all that'll happen is the paint will come off...it flexes more too.

it's like comparing a potato chip (fiberglass) with tootsieroll (urethane)..that's the best i can come up with.

there's this thing called fiberflex though...a body shop told me about it once..said it was supposedly stronger than fiberglass...but i dunno i've never seen one. hope that helps!

I would go urethane, but thats for most stock look aero kits. That will last longer since they put those types of bumpers and what not on stock cars.

I had a figerglass bumber once. After the 2nd time I cracked it by hitting things that a urethane bumper wouldn't have been damaged on I decided that fiberglass sucked. I repaired the bumper myself each time, but painting it wasn't the cheapest.

it sucks because the Kaminari kit does not look as good as the evo 7 or the ken style

fiberglass sucks for anything other than a show car or a car driven once in a blue moon...I had an authentic cwest, drove it for two weeks cracked it (hit dead animal on road doing 30) and after that only used it for car shows...

the new hybrid fiberglass is pretty good. I have an INGS +1 bumper and like it.

I have heard bad things about the chargespeed fiberglass though. Tend to crack very easily.

Well, unlike your pathetic little existence (compare your 1000+ posts to my 82) I don't spend all of my time online and have other things to do. If you're not going to post something constructive, don't bother.

Thanks to those who gave their opinions. I decided to get the Kaminari front with Chargespeed sideskirts and rear bumper. Once everything is on I'll post pics.

Fiberglass sides are ok. But man if you hit something with your fiberglass front, forget it, you might just have to get a new one.

like everyone said, and from my experience fiberglass<Urethane. Don't bother with Fiberglass if its your daily driver.
