I had a quick peek while changing my oil. If you notice the heavy crease down the side of the car (below the side marker) just behind that, the inner fender plastic has a W of shape reenforcement. The tire is 'just' touching there on full lock. Its enough to make a mark but doesn't look like its burning through. A 35 series tire or a 40 series tire that isn't all season (therefore thinner thread) probably wouldn't rub at all.
Nice wheel choice! I ordered the same wheels for my S13 about 6 weeks ago, and they still arent here yet!!! Had to special order them from Japan, 18x10's +18 in the rear and 17x9.5 +17 up front, with a big ole 3 inch lip in the rear.

Well my hub centric rings arrived today along with a spare valve stem cap. I've never needed hub centric rings so I wasn't expecting them to be plastic??? Anyway, I am going to the shop to install them and get some (hopefully) pics of where the tire is rubbing. I hope I can come up with a reversible solution.
