I definitely like the stock ones better and those don't look to stout to me. How much unsprung weight did you lose over stock?

No to put down your wheels, but those look awful to me.... I think the Extra $ for some Volks (or something else decent) is worth it...

They may not look stout, but see this post about the RPF wheels from the NASIOC board:

From http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show.../t-387016.html

In the latest issue of SCC, they put these very wheels on their project WRX. You might want to check it out because they actually "test out" their strength.

I guess they were playing on a gravel road and hit a 1 ft tall mound of dirt sideways at 50 mph and got on 2 wheels. Anyway, the DMS coilovers got bent up bad (designed that way) and the wheel only had a small dent. Now, that's strong.

People-
These wheels have an outstanding race history. The "same" (at least in name) wheel is on the McLarean F1 team's cars. They are known for being super strong and lightweight. That said, I have a red EVO & was thinking of getting these wheels. That picture turned me off, and now maybe I'm thinking Works Emotions...

Well, could you give us the specifics of your 12lb 17" wheel? Like the width of the wheel and make?

I can't believe some of you people are trashing the way a guy's track wheels look.

As for being a CP-035 look-a-like, are you crazy or just stupid? They do not look anything alike besides being a split-spoke design.
