Mr. Clean Auto Dry - Impressive

On a recommendation from a friend of mine, I picked up one of those Mr. Clean Auto Dry kits. If you don't know what it is, it's a hose attachment with soap in it for fast washing. But it also has a Pur Water Filter in it as well. When you're done washing and rinsing your car, you flip it over to this "Auto Dry" mode and it engages this water filter. You spray this mist of water all over your car, and when you're done, let it dry. It will dry spot free, or nearly spot free (depending on your water, and how hot/humid it is outside).

My Evo is Black, and it comes out FAR better than any type of shammy I've ever used. Obviously, if you have the time, waxing will give the absolute best result. But for those quick mid-week washes, this is the next best thing I've found by far!!

That sh*t sucks. I've used it on my TB. Its ok for very mediocre washes, at best.

The filtered water part of this works excellent (you do have to change the filter regularly though). I have a TB Evo and it always dries without a spot for me. I don't use the soap that came with it.

i love those systems, but the soap isn't that great. i did find this turtle wax brand of soap called zip wax (i think). i just used that for the first time a couple days ago in my mr clean carwash kit and the car came out immaculate.

changing the filters can become a bit tedious every 3 washes or so, but i can't beat having a perfectly clean evo without water spots.

I think I may have to pic one of these up because I can't seem to get my car dried fast enough without getting waterspots

I've been using mine for about 2 years with great results. Changing the filter so often is a bit of a pain, but maybe that just means I need to stop washing every weekend.

There's a bunch of people on other forums that have had the same problems when using the Auto Dry.

Well there is the possibility just some defects in the formula when first came out. I might try it on some other car before I take the time gettin the residue of my evo haha

I think people are getting mixed results because of the water in their areas. If your water has a lot of impurities in it, you will see water spots on your car because the filter isn't able to clean all of the water. If you have fairly clean water, you won't see spots because the filter will take care of the rest of the impurities. Personally, I live in Thornton, and the water here still leaves spots, but if I drive 15 minutes downtown to Denver, the water never leaves spots.

i was pretty impressed that just a change of soap could make a big difference.

my friend mentioned it to me yesterday and was kind of indifferent, but when i went to buy soap the store was out of the normal mr clean soap i use.

i usually do a 3 step wash though. i go to the spray and wash and hose down the wheels and the rest of the car, take it to the touch free car wash, then take it home and hand wash it and do the interior.

it's usually a 4 - 5 hour process. haha. but i gets the car clean.
