Hey everyone, just installed HID Denso 4300k kit with D2S 9006 rebased bulbs from www.hidexpert.com on my 06 GSR and wanted to share the results. Im hapy with outcome. Night and day difference comparing to stock halogens.
Here are few pics and few pics of ballast mounting. I couldnt find any info on mounting ballasts before i bought the kit so ill show where i placed them for some people who will consider this set up. Sorry for durty apartment complex garage
One concern is that bulbs itself are not too secure in headlight housing position, maybe im just tripping, seems like stock halogen bulbs where a lil more secure in place. Anyone experienced that?
Also any recomendations on fuse size to use? I put in 20 just in case like on OEM HID's.
These are denso ballasta(toyota/lexus)
I spent a long time trying to figure out where to mount them (wire harness not too long), i didnt want to stick them anywhere using 3M tape or zip tie them. I wanted a bit more secure mounting.
So i mounted them under the headlight where the stock ballast location is. The thing is that Denso ballasts are bigger so i kept twisting them around and found 2 out of 3 holes line up. I used some ss 1" screws and zip tied thru the 3rd hole and zip tied over the ballasts again just to make sure. Now they are like welded in place. For drivers side the ballast is mounted upside down for the holes to line up.
If someone tells me that theres easier way or 3 holes line up in certain position i'll feel really stupid
Maybe itll help someone with install. Dont be to rough on judging my first HID install and any advice is appreciated. Maybe someone can point out mistakes i made.
Peace

I have the same ones and they work great. It's been 6 months and still going strong. I like the way you mounted your ballast, I just mounted mines on top of the headlights. I think when I buy a new lip and have to take off the bumper, i'll mount it like how you did, much cleaner.

you should adjust the height of your hid now, i recently installed hids in mines and they were pointing kinda low, so i adjusted it so the cut off is farther down the road so you can see farther

I got the same setup. I had help installing them and took the easy way out and used some 3M tape to tape the ballasts inside the fenders.
Any advice on which fuses to use with this kit? I use 20's now like stock hid's.
