Making a shift knob fit.

Hey all,

So I have a really nice uber-rare JDM white duracon shift knob that I pulled from my STi before I sold it. It's a Laile/Beatrush knob. Very nice piece and I'd love to use it again.

But since it was in my STi, it's obviously a M12x1.25P. What would my best bet for converting it to a M10x1.25P be? My first thought was some sort of thread adapter but they don't seem to make those with that small of a conversion. The next idea was to fill the inside with a resin of some sort and then re-drilling it and re-tapping it.

Anyone have some ideas?

the resin and and retapping idea is the best, one of my friends that builds prototypes did that with my shift knob a while back.

heres my S2K titanium knob

Did some minor machining with the lathe to clear the 6spd reverse mechanism then I just re-threaded the knob with a tap set
