another reason I painted it red was to let everyone know that under the hood is great power, just like the brakes they are red with great power.

My newly repainted black vent and mani cover

Hey guys, not to jack the thread, but here's some pics of my newly painted black hood vent and manifold cover on my 03 RR. The hood vent was almost silver as the original black was worn almost completely off. The paint is high heat flat black good to 1200 degrees from Home Depot. Sorry that the car is dirty, but after seeing the red vent, I felt compelled to immediately go take pics of mine in black! LOL, no disrespect to those who have red ones though.

Mike

I just did my hood vent over the last week. Faded to silver over time....I put it back on today. Flat black....1200 degree Dupli Color Paint & Primer....Looks sooooo much better.

Not a fan of RED but who cares, its your car.

Drive like no one's watching.....haha

I still think its a good decision with the red.
don't forget it was professionally painted, not that cheap HD flat paint.
everyone that sees it agrees that it looks awesome, mainly because of the color match with the calipers being exact.
how can you not like something without really seeing it in person?

it looks like crap. ugly is ugly whether you see it online or see it in person. it's actually better that most of us don't see it in person because if we were close enough to get our hands on it, we'd probably tie you down, repaint the vent black, take your keys, and refuse to give them back until you completed the "I Will Not Hurt My EVO" 12 hour training course (sponsored my EVOM's Anti-Evolution Abuse division) at the local community center. you know who i feel sorry for the most in all this? the poor car. it never asked for this kind of treatment. i just hope the government never lets you reproduce. if i see a bunch of kids running around with fire red hair because it matches a nike swoosh on their shoes, i'm getting a team together, and we're coming after you.

your car needs red wiper blades now, paint the side mirrors red too and that will make it even more hot.
