It seems like you just used a small hand held toroch, and moved it around the pieace.To give it some blueing. You can do this withh SS the same way .

that could be done but this method involves some 9 volt batteries, soda and copper wire.

Just came across this thread and im really interested in doing this especially beacuse my arc ti heatshield is on the way right now...just wanted to know...is there any kind of specific wire and do you put the soda soaked towel on where you want to anodize it and then rub it while its on the piece?

O BTW on your MR shift knob.. get a exacto knife and take the top sticker out. Under the sticker is a allen head screw. After you remove it your shift knob will come out very easily.

I have no idea why mitsu did it this way. I actually cracked the little clear cover when removing the knob, but it sucked anyway so who cares.
