Picked up this GG IX SSL in may, and boy am i glad to be back to a 5spd sedan.
current mods, and probably keeping it this way. i enjoy the quietness:
3" dp, works axle back, works air panel, tein H-tech springs which are a perfect drop if you don't want slammed, cf front lip, a couple of gauges, cosmetics, and
18x9" Volk SF Winning. Took about a month to finish the look. I had mods lying around before i even took possession of the car.

theres a crap load of modded evo in my area. i think ive only gotten about 2 waves so far but thats ok. subie guys always talk about how much love they got. and how stock wrx wave to each other haha. (4 of my friends have modded wrx)

I botched a real UK IX badge and ended up wasting that $ and getting an ebay one for $30 which i end up liking better anyway.

my old/current cars:
-modded dark silver '98 5speed full loaded maxima
-jdm s13 conversion 'sil-eighty' 240 hatchback . LOUD.
-sick little 91 mr2 turbo . MUCH LOUDER.
-daily TRD supercharged v6 camry. 3" custom catback. LOUDEST?
-pristine stage III 300zx TT w/64k miles
(currently for sale!!!but i dont have enough posts to put it up here haha)


Day of Lowering on 1" tein-H springs. Annoying knocking/rubbing noise ensues same day. Not DP clearance, now thinking top strut mount. unsure.








Gosh darn my car is slow right now. the front suspension is making noise like i said. my sunroof, when closed, creaks like a ****! my a/c button only engages when it wants to, since i got it with 6k miles.. but oh well ive been waiting 4 years to get one of these and im gonna enjoy it.

Bro keep the Z. I miss my 1991 300ZXTT 5spd like no other. I had the JWT 535BB turbos with all supporting mods. Damn that car was such a blast to drive.

Did you make the RS4 tuck its' tail between its legs???

 

i feel you on the noises. my buddy club racing spec coilovers have been making a knocking/popping/creaking noise coming from the top of the strut. sounds like the bearing in the pillow mount is bad. seems to keep siezing up, then making noise when it has to break loose to move.

The sound you described could be a tie rod going bad or if the sound appears during a turn a bad cv joint.

I know because I have a bad cv joint in my DD.


BTW, your 300ZX TT doesn't look like this one perhaps..........

oh, love those rims too. before a buddy of mine bought his NSX, he had those wheels on his G35.

srt-4- i would love to keep the TT z, actually wanted to upgrade to sport 500 turbos and upgrade fueling. this Z is such a keeper but i figured its time to simplify. i gotta buy a house someday haha.

ken masters- thats my friends 1.8t a4 haha, i dont know how it stacks up against my evo right now being that im near bone stock and quite anemic up top. actually his car probably is too. its about neck and neck with my supercharged camry, which gets so much hate, but pulls.

 

I believe they are Work VS-XX wheels.


I agree they look awesome especially on a coupe with the right offset.

Someone needs to photoshop fliping the bird like the Evo/Vette photo.

It looked to be badged like the RS4 on the left of his trunk, and the mufflers threw me off.
