Brake dust caked on removal from rims

Sup everyone. Got some BBS rims im trying to clean Ive been trying like mad to get rid of some caked on brake dust that WONT come off with all the conventional methods. Before i use any type of a light abrasive and ruin the clear anyone have any suggestions to remove those real hard black spots that just wont come off with regular cleaners like simple green?

P21S is what i use to clean my BBS. But I don't really have any caked on brake dust. This stuff is really good tho. Comes in a gel solution and you can let it sit for 2 hours on the rims.

you try wax or clay? I had the same problem on some of my volks GTUs and I couldn't use any wheel cleaner because it would ruin the lip. I use wax and clay. It took me for ever to get it off but I got it off. If it is tar use peanut butter, trust me it works.

I just bought a clay bar im gonna try that....its actually mostly on the back of the rim...you know that part that never gets cleaned while its actually on the car. But im a perfectionist like that i want them as close to new as possible even if it means spending alot of elbow grease time on em. Its possible it may be tar...

if it is on the back part of the rim then most likely it is tar. The clay bar will take of it but throw it away after you are done with it. You don't want to use it on the car.

there really is no substitute for some elbow grease. once a year i remove the wheels off the wheel for wheel rotation but also complete wheel clean inside/out. no need for silly tool that doesnt work.

I had tried some bug and tar remover but it didnt work. That stuff is really on there. Hopefully the clay will take care of it.
