Im sort of feeling bored of my apex silver ix mr. Does anyone not recommend a new paint job? and how much do they usually run for?

 

Good paint jobs are expensive. It's the first thing you see... if it's a bad job then it throws off the whole car.

 

not cheap my friends civic hatch got quoted 1800 from a friend who paints , take into account that our cars are a little bigger than theirs..lol, and that it was through a friend and you can see it won't be cheap

 

cheapest i've seen was 1600 at maaco(5 year warranty) but dont know about quality.

 

Stick some carbon fiber parts on Apex silver. It looks really good on silver.
But wish i had w white.

 

Maaco is horrible. My buddy had a wrx and his paint started peeling off after a month and it didnt match anything. I agree with joon82. Throw some carbon fiber parts on. I got apex silver and put gun metal work emotions, and some cf parts on (front lip, rmr hood scoop, got the jdm rear bumper on the way). It looks real sick with the black on silver. If you really want a good paint job your going to be looking at around 3 grande.

 

yea never get anything painted at maaco. They do the crappiest jobs on anything.

 

Well, take a look around. I love the EB, WW, TB, but for a good job you're looking at a couple grand. If you're looking for unique, get some photochop goin' before you do anything drastic.

Best thing to do is carbon fiber it up!

I looked into this at one point with another car and to do it right would cost around 4k. I passed. It's a lot of labor and it's really hard to get a job that's done well on a budget.

 

i want RR, but the dealer told me it would be about $3200, way too much, but then its factory and good

 

Funny, some people will pay $3,200 for rims but think that same amount for a whole paint job is too much.

The maaco in eugene is capable of great long lasting paint jobs, but now cheap. If you are doing a color change it will be a lot more $. I have been painting for 15 years and would not touch any car complete far less that 4 grand then extra for jambs.
