In my honest oppinion, adding a lower front lip and going back to the factory hood with vent would bring you back to status without getting flamed.

 

I understand that you want to be different, but you really should have left the hood vent alone, mitsu puts it there because of the tremendous heat generated by our engines. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that causes problems for you.
