Rear Door Panel Repair

Hey guys,
It's been a while, but I haven't had much budget or time to work on the car (other than routine maintenance).

Well, the unthinkable happened. I knew my new job's parking garage would be murder, but it finally happened: a concrete pillar got my car. Quick story: I'm getting ready to pull into a spot, someone starts to pull out, I cut the corner tighter to avoid a collision, and <scraaaappppe>

Right rear door panel is squished right where the the decorative crease begins all the way to the door jamb. The jamb is dented a bit a small scrape on the plastic lower piece. The door got the worst of it.

$1300 estimate. The body shop said it would be too much labor to pull the dents out and replacing the door panel would be cheaper.

$240 for the panel, 6 hours labor for remove and install ($40 an hour), so about $500 of the job is replacing the door panel. About $200 is fixing the door jamb (I figure banging out dents from the wheel well), and the other $600 is paint supplies and paint labor.

So my question to all of you: does this sound reasonable? The shop replaced a bumper for me (not my fault accident a year or two ago) and did a great job with the paint, so I trust them on that.

What's involved with replacing the door panel? It looks like it just crimped and tack welded along the perimeter. I'm not sure what would be involved in the remove and replace, but if I can save a few hundred bucks, that would be great.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
