Can you tell?

I'm looking to test drive this car tomorrow or Saturday, and I was wondering about the validity of this dealer's description of the mods. Can you tell from this picture whether there is actually a different turbo?

Here is the complete list of mods.. Definitely not how I would/will do my car up, but I'm just looking for one to test drive and get a good feel for, and the local dealer is really a ***** when it comes to knowing anything about the Evo..

With Over $10,000 In Upgrades This New BMW Trade In Comes Equipped With 2.0L L4 FI DOHC Turbo 4 Cylinder Engine, 6-Speed Manual Transmission, Upgraded Turbo, CPU, Upgraded Intake Manifold And Exhaust Manifold, Spearco Intercooler, Upgraded Fuel System, Alcohol Bottle Injection System, Turbo Timer, And Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood, Carbon Fiber Tach Steering Colum Mounted, Sound Stream Audio System With AM/FM/DVD/MP3 Stereo With In-Dash CD Player, Recaro Sport Seats, Air Conditioning, Dual Front Air Bags, Power Windows, Power Locks & Mirrors, Tilt Steering Column, 4 Wheel ABS Brakes, And 18" Enkei Aluminum Alloy Wheels

I know this description is not completely accurate, as I spy a Buschur racing battery in there that wasn't mentioned, as well as drilled brake rotors. It sucks I won't get a good feel for the stock Evo, but I'll take what I can get!!

My guess is that it is aftermarket from what I'm seeing.

yes... he is running all buschur stuff

in the pic you can see an external wastegate, the buschur cast manifold for their stock mani turbo setups... forge MBC...

it says alcohol but i do not see the injection point and if the intake mani is upgraded, its just a stock ported upgrade

Damn, thanks for 3 responses in less than a minute! Any ideas what size turbo this is? Is it going to be dramatically different spool up/power delivery from stock? I really hope I can get a good feel for it without the (admittedly fun) nothing... nothing... WHOOOOOSHHHH of a BIG turbo! Does this look like a particular staged Buschur kit?

Looks like there is a large wastegate on the left side of the manifold...

Looks like stock intake and exhaust manifolds (from the outside), and I don't see a reservoir for the alcohol. The reservoir could be elsewhere of course.

That is a nicely modded car. It looks like he did it right. The only things you obviously can't tell is if the turbo is different and the "cpu" upgrade

Glad to hear all this, at least it was done right. Of course, as I'm typing this post, the guy returns my call to let me know the car is headed out tomorrow to be inspected by a guy who is 'very interested'. Of course, that's what they all say. I might not be playing games with this dealer, either. I know the evo is a rare car, which is good, but can't a guy get a test drive?!

the turbo is obviously different.... the cpu upgrade is unknown though... im sure they mean flashed. He is running the stock MAF so im sure no AEM. The reservoir for the alcohol would have to be trunk mounted...

and P.S. Damn, ya'll are truly amazing at this! I know all about these mods, but I look at this picture and just see an engine bay with a lightweight battery, different intake, and some 'shiny tubes'. I appreciate the help tremendously! and look forward to finding a car to drive one of these days (I already know where I'm buying mine from, I just need a local car to get a feel for it from the drivers' seat!)

well, in that case, this is not the car you want to get a feel for... it is nothing like stock and will make a stock car disappointing aside from low end torque dependent on how big the turbo is
