**PICS** Carbon Fiber Mitsu Logo (Grill and Trunk) Install
I spent some money on eBay and picked up a few neat badges for my Evo IX MR. I bought a total of 4.
1 - Carbon Fiber JDM style "EVOLUTION IX" logo for the trunk
2 - UK Authentic "MR" logo for the trunk
3 - Carbon Fiber Mitsubishi diamond for the trunk (the auction said this was for a 3000GT, but I don't see why it matters)
4 - Carbon Fiber Mitsubishi diamond for the front grill (this is actually the one they sell that fits the Evo VIII front bumper, I couldn't find one that was for the Evo IX)
Here are the photos of how it came out....

The trunk logos went on very easy and there were no problems. The only thing that I recommend to anyone who is trying this mod is that after they have the logos on it is a good idea to press them on firmly with one hand while you use a heat gun or a hair dryer to put some heat on them. If the heat is too hot for your hand then it is too hot for the logo. I decided to take the stock "Evolution MR" badge off because it was too redundant (it was a small one in the corner) - I dont know yet if I want to leave the LANCER badge on, but for now I have left it on. Any opinions on this?
The front logo on the grill was a bit tricky. The stock logo on a MR IX is a bit smaller than the logo that goes on the VIII. The stock logo on my car (the IX) is stuck to a diamond shape bracket that is actually screwed into a piece of metal that is behind the grill mesh. You have to unscrew the 4 or 5 screws at the very top of the bumper (when the hood is open) to be able to remove the screw. It is not hard, it only took about 5 minutes. Once this is out I cleaned the grill with an alcohol wipe and stuck the new emblem on. I had to use another layer of double sided 3M tape to make sure there was enough padding in the tape because the edge of the logo sort of hides the tape when you press it on the grill. A Second layer was the solution to this problem. Next step is the heat gun or hair dryer (remember if its too warm for your hand, then its too warm for the plastic) The EVO VIII front end logo is also curved slightly more because the front bumper is a bit more round on a VIII where the logo is compared to the more square IX mesh grill. To persuade the logo to flatten out I parked in my garage with the bumper of my car close to the front wall of the garage. I placed a small plunger I found in my bathroom pinned against the wall and with a rag on the plunger end. I slid it down so it held pressure on the logo for a day or 2 (I just drove my truck right because I wanted to make sure the logo was stuck solid) I was a little nervous about it not sticking but it seems that 3M double sided tape sticks really well on the IX mesh grill. I even washed the car today and it still is stuck super solid. That plunger idea worked wonders at giving the new logo the same shape as the stock grill. If anyone has questions feel free to ask, but if your like me and you hate chrome on your car this is a great mod!

Looks great! BTW are all the rear emblems just stuck on? Do any have holes in the trunk? I want to remove everything off mine if thats the case. I say you take off the Lancer badge too

Yes they all just stick on... There are no holes in the trunk. When I bought the Logos they came with a template too, they are great I love them. I wish the lancer badge was lower in the corner, I cant try and move it because it wont stick. I'd have to buy a new one.

I used to drive with the redsuns when I had my SE3P, but I like the CT9A much more.
