shes got a dirty rear

My evo that is.
I have a wicked white 8, ams exhaust with test pipe. The exhaust tip does not pretrude far enough from the bumper. The rear bumper gets so filthy that even after i scrub the heck out of it, it still has resedue. Do many of you share this problem? What are your fixes? Does anyone know of any product that is safe to use and will get rid of and/or protect against this? Thanks. -John

you could get yourself a heat sheild for the rear bumper.

or you could get someone to weld you a little extra length on your cat-back.

I have looked into the heatshield and was wndering how it will protect the reare end form getting nasty, i supose it wont but itll at least keep the part aroudn the exhast tip form burning up. ... know of any non abrasive car wash products, used to say; get sticky gryme or in this case exhaust carbon stains off?

I use just regular car wax and start going at it. Once you put a good coat on it makes it much easier next time. I just normally leave it on everyone of my cars though.

claybar will help, so will a light polishing compound. another tip is to clearbra the inside and let it get 'destroyed' by the dirt and heat. since its a small piece u can attach one every year and no big deal

To add. After you clay bar (to get rid of all the impurities on the paint surface). You wash the area with soap/water, then use a cleaner wax, then I would use a carnuba or something of the like to finish it off. Like spaceball said. a nice coat of wax will make future stuff easier to remove.
