yeah most of the wheel cleaners on the market these days will definitely eat up the clear coat or paint on our expensive wheels. Especially the ones are anodized finished such as Rays CE/TE/SE/RE wheels. I'd rather break out a sweat cleaning them than have some f'ked rims..haha

i think car soap + water is the best... it should be the least abrasive... the downside is that you have to do it ALL the time... i do mine almost weekly...

Unfortunately it's expensive and not easy to find in retail stores.

To the OP............. if you really want something BBS specific; here's a BBS specific wheel cleaner:

http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....1002&SKU=11106

Though I doubt if it is any less harmful to the BBS wheels than other wheel cleaners.

Did you bother to read the whole post??!! IF the brake dust is CAKED on no freakin soap and water in the world is gonna take it off sorry to tell you. AFTERWARDS yes once theyre clean and waxed which i said i do THEN you can keep up with the maintenance with just that.

If you wax the wheels it won't last long. Carnuba Wax begins to melt at 180*. A few hard stops and you no longer have that pretty little layer of protection.

I'll use a pressure washer on them first, then just car soap and water with a microfiber mitt. I clean them pretty often so the brake dust doesn't get a chance to build up.

This is the wheel cleaner I use along with their 3 finger detail sponge mitt. Works like a charm. Plus it doesn't f'up your hands.
