I have done that a few times at RRE asking about other cars, haha. No worries. Hopefully the car will rise again as a track car!!

 

question, did you have a crash beam on your car when you got rear-ended? Only reason I ask is I'm worried that if I get rear-ended with my JDM rear that the insurance company might not pay for the car

 

^^^ you can mod your existing beam in order to fit the jdm rear.. its the best way to go imo

 

The crash beam was in place but the driver was in a full size jeep going 70 while I was going under 5mph. There was also 0 attempt to brake before impact, which explains the damage. Nevertheless, the crash beam did help once she hit her brakes because her tow hooks hit it and stopped her from coming all the way through the car I'd assume.


If you see the car at RRE or look at the pic, you can see the crash beam still on. It is painted black partially.

 

I would modify the OEM crash beam, but I can't weld lol.

 

Take it into a shop. That's what I'd do

Thank you, gonna look better here soon. Just acquired some JDM headlights and going from AMS to ETS wide tank IC, will help fill up the bumper a little.

 

It will look even better like you said...hard to believe though.
