All racked up







Update:

For anyone considering putting a rack on and asking the question about how much noise it introduces

W/No Fairing
-City driving I would say is fine, no real noticeable difference <50mph
-Highway driving does create quite a bit of noise >50

 

Nice, where do you get that rack? Does it marr the paint on the car?

mine is all put away for the winter............i know its AWD .

 

I picked up all the components (Yakima) at REI , had to drive an hour north up to Madison to get the Q clips since no one local carried the ones I needed and I wanted to get it installed this weekend. Was 65 today..supposed to be mid 30s- low 40s tomorrow.

I took my time to get it all installed and I don't think I will have any issues with paint damage. I do think that the weather strip will take a permenant set around the clips depending how long you keep the rack installed.


I feel ya, I bought the car in 05 and it has never seen a winter. This will be its first.

 

My silver Evo never seen winter, and it only has seen the rain a couple of time . I had a TB evo in '03 and i drove that in the snow the first year i owned it and i got so mad in the spring time after looking at all the chips and ****.....i traded it in and got a silver one.

 

I already have chips all over...whatcha gonna do
