I just thought I'd forewarn other EVO owners. I just got done washing and drying my car. I leaned over to put the front wipers down, but they got tangled. So I used my elbow to lean on the hood so I could reach the passenger side wiper....


Pop!!!!!!


The hood gave in on me, and my skinnly elbow put a dent in the hood. It's right on the edge of the line from the hood vent, about 6 in from the windshield. I was freaking out!!! I was able to pop it back up but it has those dumb *** ripples. I don't know if a dentless guy can fix it. I read another thread where they can't get those ripples out.

A normal human being really can't notice, but as an EVO owner it tears me up. So I figure I post this to save other EVO hoods. Freakin hood !

 

Sorry to hear that but couldn't you just of switched to the passanger side of the car and untangled the passenger side wiper instead of leaning over and costing you a dent?

sheesh.... chalk it up to the costs of weight savings i guess

speaking of which i bet those aluminum fenders/hood would be expensive to replace in a crash....
