These shots were all taken in Auto, that means that the camera's using every AF point to select it's focus from. That means that if one of those AF points (the dots in the viewfinder) aren't on the car, and the camera selects that one to use, then the car is going to be out of focus. (That's not 100% true every time, but let's keep this simple, there's a couple of variables)
Next time you decide to do another shoot I want you to try something. Take a picture in Auto. Review the image and copy it to the "t", exposure, aperture, ISO, WB, all that ****.
Now put the camera in "M" and set the settings to mimic the shot you just took where the camera did all the thinking for you.

See the magnifying glass icons on the top-right in the camera? See the one that looks like a checkerboard? While in "M" mode, press that button then look through the viewfinder. What this allows you to do is select which AF point you want to use. I'd go with the center one.
So, now you're in "M" mode with your copy-catted settings from your "Auto" shot and you're only focusing using the center AF point, aim the AF point at the part of the car you'd most like in focus (more variables come in here regarding DOF, but we'll leave that alone now too), half press the shutter to get your beep and recompose your shot to include however much of the car you want and take your picture. Wallah!
Hope this made sense.
looks great
