I noticed a very small amount of rust around the bolts holding the heat shield in place. This is something I predicted would happen waaaaay before I bought the car.

Has anyone attempted to repaint the heat shield and heat shield bolts? The stock flat black paint is VERY delicate. You can pratically rub it off with your fingers.

I would like to keep the flat black stock appearence. Nothing shiney. Does anyone have a matching paint code or brand of paint?

 

Any high temp paint should work. A few people that painted thier block heads mentioned brands...I won't tell you to search...you know what you're doing.

The US lancer headshields aren't even painted, just plain and rusty right from the factory.
